Gehenna was created as a response to the quiet collective mourning beneath the surface of the present moment. Socially, politically, spiritually — something feels as though it is collapsing and revealing itself at the same time. The weight of that revelation is not light.
The subject exists in a state of existential endurance. This is not pain for spectacle, but the strain of witnessing imbalance and the shadow side of humanity rising to the surface.
The markings across her face form a dismantled serpent — a symbol of broken systems and the possibility of their undoing. The dagger at her neck is not a threat from above, but a reminder: responsibility rests with us.
Gehenna is not a work of comfort. It is a portrait of reckoning — both witness and warning.
Original work. Ships directly from the studio.
